Basic Scenario

Basic Scenario

Equipment Explorer is an equipment comparison tool aimed and comparing equipment performance on your fields. The intent of its usage is to facilitate discussion around proper sizing, productivity, and the cost of equipment in realistic scenarios.

Navigating to Equipment Explorer

Navigating to the Equipment Explorer interface is very simple.Cclick on the Equipment Explorer icon in the left hand navigation menu.

Scenario Builder

Once landed on the Equipment Explorer scenario builder page you are presented with a set of input parameters that allow you to build two scenarios for comparison. These are denoted via the columns in the inputs table, "Owned Equipment" and "New Equipment.

Scenario Path Planning

Equipment Explorer leverages out longest straightest edge algorithm to plan a single path plan for all fields according to the organization filter criteria. This could be Organization, Grower, or Farm.
Batches of path plans are run for each piece of equipment selected. This means that if a single piece of equipment is selected we only run a single batch operation. If there are two pieces of equipment there would be two different batches included in the scenario. For example, if there are one hundred fields, and two pieces of equipment, the scenario would calculate 200 path plans in the background.

Organization Filter

As Equipment Explorer you can filter to any connected Organization, Grower, or Farm.

By default the organization filter will be top level. That is that there will be no lower level filters selected. To refine the filter simply click on the purple "Change" text and the filter pop-up pes.will appear.

Once the desired Organization, Grower, or Farm has been selected, click "save" to submit the filter criteria.

Operation Type Selection

Equipment Explorer allows the user to select three different operations types. These are; Seeding, Application, and Harvest. The operation type filter enables different calculations that are specific to operation type to be added to the basic scenario.

Scenario Input Table

Scenario parameters are manipulated using the scenario input table. All adjustable parameters can be added or removed based on user preference.

Equipment Model

The equipment model parameter corresponds to all user equipment details entered into the Launch Pad Equipment database. The equipment model is not a required value and can be left blank. The Launch Pad equipment database can be accessed from with Equipment Explorer without having to leave the scenario builder.

To add new equipment from within the Equipment Explorer scenario builder select the equipment model dropdown. Then select the the "+Equipment" selection at the bottom of the drop down.

Swath Width

The swath width parameter is the minimum required input to run a parameter. This input can be manipulated regardless of equipment selection.

Adding Parameters

To create more detailed scenarios add more parameters to the scenario by clicking the relevant add scenario buttons.

Basic Scenario

A basic Equipment Explorer Scenario consists of a comparison between two equipment. The minimum requirement for calculation is to have a swath width entered for both "Owned Equipment" and 'New Equipment".

To calculate the basic scenario insure that all required and desired parameters are added to the scenario builder. When ready hit the "Calculate" Button to run the scenario calculations.

While the scenario is calculating you will be presented with a loading screen and progress bar:

Once the scenario is finished being calculated you will be presented with the final Equipment Explorer Scenario.
